Feedback from event coordinators and runner/viewers (on file at rosmd@everestkc.net )
I receive some very nice comments and sometimes folks actually send me postal thank you's. Here are a few of the emails from recent years. As I always told my kids when they were young "it is nice to be thanked". Dick Ross Send me an email!!

HI Mr. Ross--
I ran the Summer Intro 5K at Wyandotte Co Lake Park yesterday, and I
would love a higher resolution version of this picture:
IMG_5157_s.jpg
Incidentally, I am in the Army and I move frequently and race
everywhere l live. I'm not aware of other folks doing what you're
doing...so thank you! I also don't have very many good action shots
of me running, so I truly appreciate it!

You should know you always bring a smile to our faces. My first marathon was last year at Free State and your cheering and prompting for muscle man poses at the end made me smile when I felt like I was about to die. I'm not sure any of us can thank you enough for the encouragment and incredble pictures you give. If there is a running hall of fame somewhere YOU should be enshrined!
Thank you for making my first 50 mile run even more memorable! Just when I was feeling worse and the wind was picking up more, you blew that goose horn of yours and called me a world class athlete. That will be remembered for a long time and it gave me the inspiration to go do that second loop! Thanks, Gary from Illinois
from Race Directors...Dick,Loved the photographer you sent to our race and the photos. Awesome to have such great pictures of the race. The runners love all the "bell photos" and a great service for us to have that action captured. We hope to get on your calendar for next year. Five Trails Half Marathon, Leavenworth
Dick,One more thing I forgot to mention….The shots were AWESOME!You really have an eye for capturing people in your lens.Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much for photographing our event today. The pictures look great and I look forward to receiving the copies on CD. We appreciate your time and talent and hope to work with you again in 2011!Thanks again,Suzanne
You provide a great service and i like your photos of the families and non-runner shots, as I usually have my kids cheering me on. Very nice of you to come all the way out there in the mud to get the river shots too. Most guys would have stayed near the finish line!
From Buffy K...about the Hawk 50..I also want to personally
thank Dick Ross for taking his time to be at the race to capture another
great memory for me. I really appreciate Dick being there EARLY to take excellent
pictures AND for waiting patiently at the river crossing to capture a great
moment. Thanks, Dick!
What a race and everyone was a winner in this great Mother's Day event. Thanks Dick for all of the great pics you take! J.D.
Great pictures Dick!! Thanks for all your hard work! A.G.
You are, indeed, a very special person, devoted to us crazy bunch of runners! E.Y.
You have become well known in the running community, and have
worked
hard to achieve it. I'm proud to be one of your associates.
BJ
Wow!
I don't know how you take so many quality pictures in such a short time frame.
Then you post them in record time to boot!
I'm impressed, thanks for all the memories!
Sincerely,
John & Sheldi B.
I really can't thank you enough for all of your support for
running in general and especially the Hawks... you are a true friend!

From Facebook...2010
K. B. P.Yes, great photos! Thanks for all the hours you put in making sure you capture all of our wonderful running/walking memories!
This year, 2009, I asked runners to tell me how can I improve SeeKCrun.com and below are their answers
-Dick, you should clone yourself so there could be even more great pictures! Seriously, thanks for all you do for us runners!
-I really don't know what else you can do. Everything I've seen is great!
thank you is all i have to say. your volunteerism is inspirational and has
propelled me to give more of my time to worthy causes.
-I think you do an awesome job covering the races for the Trail Nerds. You
have something for everyone. Thanks for always being there.
-Make the pictures on your site be in the order they were taken - it's very annoying that they aren't. Also if you could name them with a timestamp to the second it allows you to see how far ahead of another runner you are (if the photo is taken at the same spot - always fun for gauging performance).
-Just love seeing your smiling face
-LOVE the site. Can't wait to see the events. NICELY done. THANKS!
-U Do a GREAT JOB, U are EXTREMELY important to kc running scene!! Thank
you!!!
-You do a great job right now.
-I appreciate SeeKCrun and the photos provided - it does add to the running
event experience in KC. Thank you!!! That said, the website has WAY too much
going on and it is difficult to find photos, and to navigate the site in
general.
-the website could be a little more organized its kinda confusing a search
bar in the website would do wonders for the organization

You do a great job right now.
I always enjoy looking at your race photos! Yours have a unique style and personality that the sports photo companies do not have. The one suggestion I have is to simplify the look and feel of your website. There is so much text and so many different photos/events, I have a hard time finding where I even go to see the pictures. Just remember simple and cleaner style = easy to use website. :) Keep snapping those pictures. Always a joy to see you at the races! (from the survey) I think I am as simplified as possible...who would I drop Clubs, Race promotions, Advertisers? I always appreciate these kinds of inputs
Thanks so much for the mural- We LOVE it!! and I know the parents love the site with the pictures! You are truly a gift to this community and to us. We appreciate all the time and energy you spend capturing the energy of the moment at our events. You do such a wonderful job and we so appreciate it! Enjoy your summer! We’ll keep in touch and see you soon! P.P.
Thank you for all that you do. I am sure these companies will be very happy to see their people competing. We will see you at SM Tri.C.T.
Dick I want to thank you for all you did to make our event even more fun for our athletes. The fact that you are there to archive their success and the event for KCCC is phenomenal. All too often we are so busy at the event time doesn’t allow us to express a heartfelt thank you for all that you do for us, and for the sport of triathlon. You are a true hero to so many and we appreciate you very, very much. Have a great week and we will see you again soon! J.L.
I have no complaints. I love races
where you take pictures and your website is incredibly easy to manage.
Thanks!
Thanks for access to the free photos. You are always so cheerful and encouraging
at the races.
You Rock.......what is there to improve! Love your photos and always willing
to take a snap at the spur of a moment!!!No improvements needed. You are
already great.
I love seeing all the pictures online.
I love the pictures that you provide! Keep it up if you can! Its always nice to see you at the races!
I think I mentioned that this was my first race ever, so kind of significant - very glad to have the pic! I am sure i will see you at future races! Again, truly appreciate you being there and volunteering your time and talent! L.J.
Dick: Thank you for the free service you provide to the participants of the Truffle Shuffle, the first Saturday each March. Your photography enhances the performances of the runners, and I appreciate your contributions of time, money, and expertise to make the race a more enjoyable experience. B.P.
Thanks for all you do, Dick! I'm still open to
helping here and there if you need any help with the website.
Appreciate the quality work! C.J.
These are comments collected from the Runners Voice
survey...Thank you very much
No complaints, the best running photographer in the area. Even
if you made no changes based on this survey, it would still be good.
You do a great job of getting everyone photographed.
I love that you capture so many different moments in one race event. Because you take so many, it would be helpful if the pictures are organized by bib number on the smaller races you work. I know that it is impossible for races such as St. Pattys Day but for the ones where there is less competition, it would be great! :)
Dick, I LOVE your pictures! They have been a source of inspiration to me and my family on different levels! If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have ANY pictures of our accomplishments! THANK YOU, YOU ARE INVALUABLE!!!
Dick, you can't improve on perfection! Seriously, I can't imagine what you could possibly do to make your services any better.
Hi Dick – Saw everything greeting me when I came back to the office this week. Thanks so much for everything! Thanks again for all you do! J.B.
Your pictures are FANTASTIC!! Thanks for putting so much of your heart into it. K.C.
First off, I want to thank you for all the pictures you've taken. My wife,
Lindsey, and I love going through the pictures after races (Head for
the Cure, and the Olathe Half Marathon have been our races, plus a few
others here and there since 2006). We have been going back through old
races photos available from 2007-2008, and printing the ones of us off,
as memories F.S.
Dick! Thank you SOOO much for coming out to Groundhog Run 2009. I
just saw all of the amazing photos you posted online and they capture the
energy, excitement and fun of our event perfectly. I truly appreciate
all of your support!!! :-) E.
Dick,
We are already grateful for the CD and that fact that you came to photograph
our event. You are so kind and generous.

Hey,
Thanks so much for your involvement in our run. Lots of people
commented that you were
such a nice addition to the run.C.M.
Dick,
Happy 71st. SeeKCrun is as much a part of the lexicon of Kansas City
running as MARA or Hospital Hill.
See you at the next run. . .

Thanks so much for the poster with all the DBA CX race pic’s. Everything went very good that day. The city even said that they would like to see us again next year. Your picture should be in the dictionary next to the words good neighbor. Thanks, T.
Thanks Dick again for all you do for the Trail Nerds

Ben and me coming into the water, and climbing up the hill and .. and ..S.

The collage looks great. Thanks for all you do to promote running. People love to see pictures of themselves. D.H.
I just finished looking at all the photos and they are great. I think that what you do for everyone involved is just beyond words. I think it means a lot to the runners to see themselves at these events. I hope you are able to continue to do so and welcome you for next year. R.A. (Snake Chase)

Hi Mr Ross!
Thanks again for your wonderful pictures from Tarmac Run. Awesome pics of
my daughter...You're the bomb! :-) R.S.
My wife and I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we appreciate
what you add to our events. We have just moved here from NM and were
extremely pleased to have someone as positive as you present at the Clinton
Cross Country Challenge. It was our first race in Kansas and our hope
is that your positive character will encourage others involved in the sport
to be as encouraging and supportive as you were this past sunday. Thank
you again.
Sincerely,
H.and J.
You do a great job with your pictures, website and
newsletters. We are hoping you are able to attend our events in 2008
because you add a lot of professionalism to our events and we really appreciate
it. C.T.
I miss all my trail nerd friends and I miss seeing your smiling
face at the events. I've often wondered how many people have decided
to stick with running because they were inspired by an image you captured
of them in action.
Thanks again for all you do and keep up the good work B.B.
Thank you very much for the 2008 Running calender you sent me. I
really
appreciate the calender and everything else you do for the KC running
community.Hope to see you at the Chili Run.D.
Dear Mr. Ross,
I mentioned to you during the Jingle Bell Run how much I appreciated your
service to the running community. I have recently come back after a 10 year
hiatus because my daughter wants to run. We never had this service before
and honestly my running scrapbook has few pictures in it except the ones
my dad took in high school and some fuzzy shots from "professional" photographers.
Your pictures are great and I am looking foward to working on my daughtr's
running scrapbook. Thanks to you, it will have plenty of really good pictures
in it.
Sincerely,
R.S

have thought to bring a camera so having pictures is a real treat.
