Good afternoon Mr. Ross,
Thank you very much for coming out to Hot Trot race at Shawnee Mission Park yesterday. I think it is very cool that you photography the various races around Kansas City. As a race participant, it is so much fun looking back at the moments you captured.

Mr. Ross -
Just found my picture from the Mad Bomber run at Iola. I am image 355
at the finish line in my Mizzou shirt. It was my first night race and
a lot of fun. I was there by myself but my two daughters are getting a
chuckle out of the pained look on my face. I had been chasing the
other 48 year old in front of me the whole race but couldn't catch
him. Many thanks for the picture.
I see you taught at JCCC. I am an accounting professor at Pittsburg
State; too young to retire but sometimes I think the students wish I
would.

Dick,
Thank you so much! You really do too much for the KC running community, and I don't even know where to start thanking you. I hope you have fun at the duathlon, and don't stress about making it to both. We'll probably socialize till around 11, or whenever things taper off.
Take care, and I have my SeeKCRun cowbell with me at every race! Perhaps after Bad Ben's Trail Nerd World, you should encourage people to send you pictures of where SeeKCRun gear has traveled to post on your site. :)
Cheers & God Bless,
Brad

Dear Dick Ross and Partners,
I just wanted to write you and tell you how much you are appreciated.
I am always happy when I pull up to my sons running events and see you or
one of your partners running around taking pictures. What an amazing thing
you are doing in this day and age. I am always there taking pictures for my
sons memory book but you have much better cameras and are always able
to capture photos that I can never get. You always post the pictures so quickly
after the race, also. That is very nice!
I cant tell you how much you are appreciated and hope you will be able to
continue this wonderful service for all the runners and their families. We all
truly appreciate it and hope you are compensated for all your efforts. You are
such a nice person as well as your partners.
Thank you again!

Dick Ross at http://www.seekcrun.com/ worked his magic again, stayed up all
night, & made pictures from yesterday's Free State Trail Race available. Check
them out at his website.
I'd like to give a non-solicited plug for Dick Ross. While the race directors
pay Dick for his time, he works for very little in comparison to other
photographers. He is retired and a former runner who find joy in taking
pictures at all the regional trail races and providing them for free to
participants. Unlike other photographers at races, you cannot buy products from
him and he will gladly send you a high resolution photo (for free) if you email
him. If you feel inclined, please consider donating a couple of bucks using the
"donation" link on the top right of http://www.seekcrun.com/.
OK - end of shameless plug. Dick- we appreciate what you do!

Hi Dick,
This past summer I took on coaching and directing at Personal Best as Steve Hinman retired. I get your e-mails which keep me up to date with local running events and I've been to your site. I was thrilled to see Personal Best on the list of training services. Thank you for including us! But, most of all I wanted to thank you for being out there for all of us coaches, race directors and runners big and small. I first saw you when my son and I ran at the USATF Rim Rock cross country meet, oh way long ago I can't even remember when. You were out at one of the beautiful covered bridges. My first impression was, "here is a gentleman who is out here supporting all runners no matter what their speed. And since then, I've seen you at many local races, rain or shine and most recently at the top of Urish Hill at Topeka to Auburn. What a joy it was to see you there :) You are a wonderful representative of the KC running community.
Thanks from all of us at Personal Best!

K. B. P.Yes, great photos! Thanks for all the hours you put in making sure you capture all of our wonderful running/walking memories!
This year, 2009, I asked runners to tell me how can I improve SeeKCrun.com and below are their answers
-Dick, you should clone yourself so there could be even more great pictures! Seriously, thanks for all you do for us runners!
-I really don't know what else you can do. Everything I've seen is great!
thank you is all i have to say. your volunteerism is inspirational and has
propelled me to give more of my time to worthy causes.
-I think you do an awesome job covering the races for the Trail Nerds. You
have something for everyone. Thanks for always being there.
-Make the pictures on your site be in the order they were taken - it's very annoying that they aren't. Also if you could name them with a timestamp to the second it allows you to see how far ahead of another runner you are (if the photo is taken at the same spot - always fun for gauging performance).
-Just love seeing your smiling face
-LOVE the site. Can't wait to see the events. NICELY done. THANKS!

You do a great job right now.
I always enjoy looking at your race photos! Yours have a unique style and personality that the sports photo companies do not have. The one suggestion I have is to simplify the look and feel of your website. There is so much text and so many different photos/events, I have a hard time finding where I even go to see the pictures. Just remember simple and cleaner style = easy to use website. :) Keep snapping those pictures. Always a joy to see you at the races! (from the survey) I think I am as simplified as possible...who would I drop Clubs, Race promotions, Advertisers? I always appreciate these kinds of inputs
Thanks so much for the mural- We LOVE it!! and I know the parents love the site with the pictures! You are truly a gift to this community and to us. We appreciate all the time and energy you spend capturing the energy of the moment at our events. You do such a wonderful job and we so appreciate it! Enjoy your summer! We’ll keep in touch and see you soon! P.P.
Thank you for all that you do. I am sure these companies will be very happy to see their people competing. We will see you at SM Tri.C.T.
Dick I want to thank you for all you did to make our event even more fun for our athletes. The fact that you are there to archive their success and the event for KCCC is phenomenal. All too often we are so busy at the event time doesn’t allow us to express a heartfelt thank you for all that you do for us, and for the sport of triathlon. You are a true hero to so many and we appreciate you very, very much. Have a great week and we will see you again soon! J.L.

I think I mentioned that this was my first race ever, so kind of significant - very glad to have the pic! I am sure i will see you at future races! Again, truly appreciate you being there and volunteering your time and talent! L.J.
Dick: Thank you for the free service you provide to the participants of the Truffle Shuffle, the first Saturday each March. Your photography enhances the performances of the runners, and I appreciate your contributions of time, money, and expertise to make the race a more enjoyable experience. B.P.
Thanks for all you do, Dick! I'm still open to
helping here and there if you need any help with the website.
Appreciate the quality work! C.J.
These are comments collected from the Runners Voice
survey...Thank you very much
No complaints, the best running photographer in the area. Even
if you made no changes based on this survey, it would still be good.
You do a great job of getting everyone photographed.
I love that you capture so many different moments in one race event. Because you take so many, it would be helpful if the pictures are organized by bib number on the smaller races you work. I know that it is impossible for races such as St. Pattys Day but for the ones where there is less competition, it would be great! :)
Dick, I LOVE your pictures! They have been a source of inspiration to me and my family on different levels! If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have ANY pictures of our accomplishments! THANK YOU, YOU ARE INVALUABLE!!!
Dick, you can't improve on perfection! Seriously, I can't imagine what you could possibly do to make your services any better.
Hi Dick – Saw everything greeting me when I came back to the office this week. Thanks so much for everything! Thanks again for all you do! J.B.
Your pictures are FANTASTIC!! Thanks for putting so much of your heart into it. K.C.
First off, I want to thank you for all the pictures you've taken. My wife,
Lindsey, and I love going through the pictures after races (Head for
the Cure, and the Olathe Half Marathon have been our races, plus a few
others here and there since 2006). We have been going back through old
races photos available from 2007-2008, and printing the ones of us off,
as memories F.S.
Dick! Thank you SOOO much for coming out to Groundhog Run 2009. I
just saw all of the amazing photos you posted online and they capture the
energy, excitement and fun of our event perfectly. I truly appreciate
all of your support!!! :-) E.
Dick,
We are already grateful for the CD and that fact that you came to photograph
our event. You are so kind and generous.

Thanks again for your wonderful pictures from Tarmac Run. Awesome pics of
my daughter...You're the bomb! :-) R.S.
My wife and I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we appreciate
what you add to our events. We have just moved here from NM and were
extremely pleased to have someone as positive as you present at the Clinton
Cross Country Challenge. It was our first race in Kansas and our hope
is that your positive character will encourage others involved in the sport
to be as encouraging and supportive as you were this past sunday. Thank
you again.
Sincerely,
H.and J.
You do a great job with your pictures, website and
newsletters. We are hoping you are able to attend our events in 2008
because you add a lot of professionalism to our events and we really appreciate
it. C.T.
I miss all my trail nerd friends and I miss seeing your smiling
face at the events. I've often wondered how many people have decided
to stick with running because they were inspired by an image you captured
of them in action.
Thanks again for all you do and keep up the good work B.B.
Thank you very much for the 2008 Running calender you sent me. I
really
appreciate the calender and everything else you do for the KC running
community.Hope to see you at the Chili Run.D.
Dear Mr. Ross,
I mentioned to you during the Jingle Bell Run how much I appreciated your
service to the running community. I have recently come back after a 10 year
hiatus because my daughter wants to run. We never had this service before
and honestly my running scrapbook has few pictures in it except the ones
my dad took in high school and some fuzzy shots from "professional" photographers.
Your pictures are great and I am looking foward to working on my daughtr's
running scrapbook. Thanks to you, it will have plenty of really good pictures
in it.
Sincerely,
R.S
